Friday, December 1 is World AIDS Day, and QPGC will hold its annual World AIDS Day Display (2- 5:3opm) and Candlelight Vigil (5:30-6:3opm) at Ventura City Hall, with battery-powered candles courtesy of the City of Ventura.

Andy Edgar-Beltran of the folk/rock duo I’ve Seen Better Elephants will perform a musical number, and officiants from across Ventura County will hold an invocation, including Rev. Melissa Campbell Langdell, Bp. Manny Edgar-Beltran, Deacon Joel Chan and Rev. Dana Worsnop.

Also, City Councilman Doug Halter will read the City proclamation declaring World AIDS Day.

For World AIDS Week and beyond, we have many events planned. On Nov. 26 we will be at All Saints Church in Oxnard to speak during their English and Spanish language services, as well as display our Quilts.

Nov. 28 we will be at UC Santa Barbara for their World AIDS Day event. We will display our Quilts and speak on the history of the Quilt Project .

Nov. 30 we will be at Cal Lutheran in Thousand Oaks for their World AIDS Day observances, and host a student Quilting bee as well.

Dec. 1 is WORLD AIDS DAY, and we will host our annual Quilt display from 2- 5:3opm, followed by a candlelight vigil from 5:30-6:3opm, to remember those lost to AIDS (see p.3). We hope you will attend this solemn event.

Dec. 5 the County of Ventura will present a proclamation declaring World AIDS Day in Ventura County, and from Dec. 4 through the new year, we will have QPGC’s largest display ever at the Ventura County Government Center from the ground floor to the top floor – stop by and see what we’ve been doing for the past 5 years!
